You can also include other blog posts that you come across during the course of the month. Please only include one post from any blog, though it is ok to include posts from several blogs by the same author. There are few set rules as to what can be included and what should be excluded. Just use your best judgment to exclude purely promotional posts and anything of very poor or dubious quality. You are under no obligation to accept every post submitted to you.

It is the host's responsibility to organize them into a single article full of links and add their own commentary about the blog post and why it should be read. This article is then published on the scheduled date. Please also see the FAQ item, What does a carnival post look like?

When your post is published, please send trackback pings to those blogs that support it.

Drop an email to those who submitted an article to thank them, remind them to do the same next month, and ask if they would like to host a forthcoming edition.

Thank you for being a host!
